The 2025/26 season has officially come to an end🏏.

Congratulations to Craig Fletcher and his C Grade side for reaching the finals. Unfortunately, they came up against a very strong Wy Yung outfit on Saturday and couldn’t quite get the job done.

Meerlieu lost the toss and were sent in to bat, posting a very respectable 3/144.
Michael Preston led from the front opening the batting, finishing on an excellent 81 not out, while Thomas Hall provided solid support with 33.

Wy Yung began their chase with an early setback, with big hitter Brendan Dunstan bowled for 3 by Kampbell Hall and a great catch taken by Michael Preston. However, it proved tough going after that, with only one more wicket falling. Alex Confait’s impressive 82 not out guided Wy Yung to victory at 2/148.

With the season wrapped up, this also means there are no more Thursday night dinners until October.

A huge thank you to everyone who attended throughout the year — players, supporters, and local residents alike. We hope you all enjoyed the meals prepared by Cindy, Danny, and their wonderful helpers. Feeding 30+ people each week, often without knowing exact numbers, is no small task and your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Finally, Presentation Night will be held next Friday, 27th March at the hall.

Junior presentations begin at 5:30pm, followed by a BBQ dinner at 6pm, with senior presentations afterwards.
